Magdalena Loretta Armijo, of Fowler, entered into rest Oct. 3, 2013, at her home in Fowler. She was born Nov. 4, 1958, in Raton, N.M., to Frank and Alice Armijo. She was 54 years of age. Magdalena is survived by her children, Elizabeth Armijo of Alamosa, Alison (James) Kasan of Rocky Ford, Victoria Rose Andrade of Albuquerque, N.M., Gerald Herrell of Fowler, Jack Herrell of Pueblo; grandchildren, Daniel, Kimberly, Adrianna, Derek and Garrett; brothers, Arthur Armijo of Raton, N.M., Lawrence Romero of Fowler, Harold Romero of Fowler; sisters Elizabeth (David) Segura of Raton, N.M., Frances (Joseph) Mendez of Raton, N.M., Rosalie (Bill) Strahl of Albuquerque, N.M., Jackie Romero of Fowler and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Armijo, sister, Marie Sandoval, niece, Veronica Simmons and good friend, Carl J. Mann. Magdalena enjoyed crocheting, attending church and long walks. She also enjoyed her job at the Loaf 'N Jug in Fowler, where she worked as a clerk for 15 years, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and caretaker. Everyone loved her smile and laugh. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Both services will be held at the Fowler West Assembly of God. Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
