Francis Govers II, 75

Francis Xavier Govers II, 75, of Houma, La., and formerly of Vincennes, Ind., died Saturday, January 4, 2014.
A Liturgy of the Word was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
Mr. Govers was married to Elizabeth Anneda "Ann" Harmon Govers for more than 41 years. He was a member/parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He worked at and retired from Patterson Services after 33 years. He was a member of Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club and Army Mars for many decades.
He enjoyed reading books, working with computers, collecting vintage model vehicles, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Going to the casinos with his wife was his greatest pleasure.
Francis' father, Francis Xavier Govers, was an oil chemist with 50 patents, including the Havoline Wax-Free Oil patent in 1922.
He is survived by his spouse; sons, Francis X. Govers III and wife Carol, of North Richland Hills, Texas, David R. Govers and wife Desiree, of San Diego, Calif., and Danny L. Ralston, of Lawrenceville; daughters, Elizabeth B. Aucoin and husband Spencer, of Amelia, La., and Valerie J. Buzalsky and husband John, of Vancouver, Wash.; brother-in-law, Tom L. Gray, of Kensington, Md.; 11 grandchildren, Ben Buzalsky, Daniel Buzalsky, Rachel Buzalsky, Bathany Martin, Jessica Darrouzet, Corbin Govers, Landon Aucoin, Noah Aucoin, Danny Lee Ralston, Shellie Masterson, Ryan Govers; and eight great-grandchildren; and his close friend Russell Derouen, his Sunday morning coffee-drinking buddy.
Mr. Govers was preceded in death by his parents, Franics Xavier Govers and Mabel Wright Govers, sister, Sally Ann Govers Gray, and grandson, Jeremy Ralston.
