Alden/Hiett Wedding

Kayla Alden and Matt Hiett, both from Avon, IL, were married on October 15, 2011 at Ascension Chapel on the campus of Augustana College. Rev. Jon Prain led the ceremony. A reception followed at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, IA.

The bride is the daughter of John B. and Allison Alden of Avon, IL. She will graduate from the University of Illinois in August with a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and will work for the Vermillion Association for Special Education. The maid of honor was Katie Staggs, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Billee John, Caitlin Quinn and Amy Kreiser. The flower girl was Marissa Steach.

The groom is the son of Dan and Louise Hiett of Avon, IL. He currently works as a community planner for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The best man was Mitchell Hiett. The groomsmen were Kevin VandeVoorde, Eric VandeVoorde, Josh Alden and Austin Alden. The ushers were Nick Steach, Clay Bricker, Jim Lock and John Lock. The ring bearer was Nate Kramer.

The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They currently reside in Champaign, IL.
