Francis "Butch" and Gerry Torri of DePue are announcing the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Trisha Nicole of New Windsor, to Derek Joe Nelson of New Windsor. He is the son of Barry and Kathy Nelson of Alpha.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of St. Bede Academy. She received a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University and a master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois. She is a therapist at Arrowhead Ranch in Coal Valley.

Her fiancé is a 2002 graduate of Alwood High School and received a bachelor's degree in construction management from Western Illinois University. He is a safety coordinator for DuPont Pioneer.

The couple will be married Nov. 3 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Spring Valley.
