Humes and Fisher Wedding

Lauren Fisher and Alex Humes, both of Galesburg, were united in marriage September 15, 2012, at five o'clock in the evening in an intimate outdoor wedding near Lake Rice. Reverend Dr. David Parker officiated the ceremony.
The Bride is the daughter of John and Laura Pepmeyer of Galesburg and David Fisher of Abingdon. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Dee Fisher, Sharyl Hough, the late Jim Bern, Bette Pepmeyer, and the late Glen Pepmeyer. The Groom is the son of Richard (Dick) and Gwen Humes of Galesburg. He is the grandson of Voyne and Earnestine Hester, Bev and Dale Bellamy, and the late Richard Humes.
Guests were greeted by Jenna Fisher, sister of the bride, and offered programs and burlap sachets filled with lavender to throw at the newlyweds. Serving as Maids of Honor were the bride's friends, Julie Collier and Angelica Duria. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Fisher, sister of the bride, Amanda Riley, cousin of the bride, and Lisa Walsh and Jillian Kachel, friends of the bride. Serving as Best Man was the groom's brother, Rich Humes. Groomsmen were Chad Humes, brother of the groom, David Barber, Eric Doornbos, Jared Herbert, and Greg Anderson, friends of the groom. Serving as Usher was the bride's brother, John Pepmeyer, Jr. A blend of traditional and modern music was played by a string trio from the Knox Galesburg Symphony.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited for dinner and dancing at Soangetaha Country Club. Family heirlooms were incorporated into the vintage-inspired celebration including lace tablecloths, precious books, and antique dishes.
The Bride and Groom are both graduates of Galesburg High School and the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Lauren has her Bachelor's degree in Health Administration and works as a Healthcare Technology Consultant. The groom has his Bachelor's degree in Advertising and works as an Advertising Account Executive.
Mr. and Mrs. Humes honeymooned in France, Italy, and Greece. They reside in their home in Lakeview, Chicago.
